What You Can Ask​

The AI Assistant can help you find answers in your community's documents:

Community Rules & Policies:

  • "Can I install a fence in my backyard?"
  • "What are the rules for exterior paint colors?"
  • "Are pets allowed? What are the restrictions?"

Amenities & Facilities:

  • "What are the pool hours?"
  • "How do I book the clubhouse?"
  • "Are there guest restrictions for amenities?"

Financial Questions:

  • "What's the late fee policy?"
  • "Are there special assessment procedures?"

General Information:

  • "What are the quiet hours?"

How to Use​

  1. Navigate to the AI Assistant in your resident portal
  2. Choose the audience, tone, and answer details if you want to guide the response
  3. Type your question in the input field
  4. Press Enter or click Send
  5. The AI will search resident-visible community documents and provide an answer

Quick Prompts​

Use the quick prompt buttons to get started:

  • Rules & policies - Ask about community rules
  • Payments - Questions about assessments and dues
  • Maintenance - How to submit requests
  • Amenities - Booking and amenity rules

Tips for Better Answers​

  • Be specific: Instead of "what are the rules?", ask "what are the fence rules?"
  • Include context: "Can I paint my door red?" is clearer than "what colors are allowed?"
  • Ask one question at a time: Break complex questions into simpler ones

Conversation History​

Your conversations are saved so you can reference previous answers:

  1. Click the History button to view past conversations
  2. Click any conversation to continue where you left off
  3. Start a New chat for a fresh conversation

Follow-up Suggestions​

After an answer, the assistant may suggest next actions such as:

  • Explaining what to do next
  • Drafting a message to the board or manager
  • Checking related rules, exceptions, deadlines, or approval requirements

Click a suggestion to load it into the composer, then edit it before sending.

What the AI Knows​

The AI searches through documents your board has uploaded, such as:

  • CC&Rs (Covenants, Conditions & Restrictions)
  • Bylaws
  • Rules and Regulations
  • Architectural Guidelines
  • Community Policies

The AI can only answer questions based on documents that have been uploaded to PorchQ. If information isn't in your community's documents, the AI may not be able to help. Contact your board or property manager for questions beyond what's documented.

Attachments

Residents can ask questions about documents the board has made visible, but only board members and managers can upload new files or images from the AI Assistant composer.
