Messages

Have a private conversation with your HOA management team without digging through email. Messages are one-to-one threads between you and your community's board or manager — delivered both in the portal and to your email inbox.

Viewing Your Messages

Go to Messages in your resident portal. The Messages card lists your private conversations with the management team. Each conversation shows:

  • The subject and a preview of the latest message
  • An unread count badge when there are new replies
  • Status and type badges

Click any conversation to open it. Messages from management appear on the left; your messages on the right. Automated updates are marked with an Update badge.

Starting a New Message

Use the Contact management card to start a private thread:

  1. Enter a Subject
  2. Write your message
  3. Click Send message

Your management team is notified and will reply in the same thread.

Asking About an Announcement

When reading an announcement, you can click Ask a question to start a message thread linked to that announcement. The subject is pre-filled and the announcement is attached to the thread as context, so management knows exactly what you're asking about.

Replying

Open a conversation, write in the Reply to management box, and click Reply. Your reply is added to the thread and the management team is notified.

Email Notifications

When management sends you a message, you also receive it by email with a link back to the conversation. Depending on your community's setup, you may be able to reply directly from your email — your reply is added to the portal thread automatically.

tip

Keep one topic per thread. If you have a new, unrelated question, start a new message instead of replying to an old thread — it helps management route and resolve your request faster.

Maintenance Conversations

If you submit a maintenance request, updates and questions about that request may appear here as a conversation linked to the request, so all back-and-forth stays in one place.
