The Community Area

The Community area is where you connect with your neighbors — not just the board or management. Share recommendations for a great plumber, give away furniture you no longer need, post about a lost cat, ask the neighborhood a question, or message another resident directly.

Availability

The Community area is turned on per community by your board or property manager, and they choose which features are enabled. If you don't see a Community section in your portal, it hasn't been enabled for your community yet. Owners and managers can turn it on under Community Settings.

Your Community Profile comes first

Before you can post, comment, endorse, or message neighbors, you create a short Community Profile. This is your name as neighbors will see it. Your email and phone number are never shown unless you choose to share them — you can keep all contact through private in-app messages.

What you can do

FeatureWhat it's for
Community FeedGeneral neighborhood discussion — outages, noise, questions, asks like babysitters or dog sitters
MessagesPrivate one-to-one conversations with another resident
RecommendationsRecommend and endorse outside service providers, browsable as a directory by trade
GiveawaysPost free items with photos for neighbors to claim
Lost & FoundReport a lost item or post something you found
ClassifiedsBuy and sell items with your neighbors

Not every community enables every feature — you'll only see the ones your board has turned on.

Keeping the community safe

The Community area is moderated. On any post, comment, recommendation, or message you can use Report to flag something that doesn't belong. Reports go to your board or manager for review, and content that's reported by several neighbors is automatically hidden until staff can look at it. See how moderation works for details.

Be a good neighbor

Treat the Community area like a conversation on your front porch — friendly, respectful, and on-topic. Keep personal disputes out of it, and use private messages for one-on-one conversations.
