Giveaways

Have something you no longer need? Give it to a neighbor instead of throwing it out. Giveaways lets you post free items with photos, and lets neighbors ask about them.

Before you start

You'll need a Community Profile, and your board needs to have Giveaways enabled.

Browsing giveaways​

Go to Community → Giveaways. Each item shows a photo, description, where to pick it up (if the poster added it), and an availability badge:

  • Available — up for grabs
  • Claimed — someone is taking it
  • Gone — no longer available

Posting an item​

  1. Click Post a giveaway
  2. Add the item name and a description
  3. Optionally add a pickup location (e.g. "near the north gate")
  4. Add photos (up to 8)
  5. Click Post giveaway

Your item appears as Available.

Asking about an item​

Want something a neighbor posted? Use the comment box on the item to ask a question ("Is this still available? Can I pick it up tomorrow?"). The poster is notified of your comment.

Managing your own giveaway​

On an item you posted, you can update its status as things progress — mark it Claimed when someone commits, Gone once it's picked up — or Remove it entirely.

Reporting​

If a post looks inappropriate, use Report to flag it for your management team.

A clear photo and an honest description ("works, small scratch on the side") get items to a happy new home faster — and set the right expectations.
