Messages with Neighbors
Community Messages are private, one-to-one conversations with another resident — for example, to arrange a giveaway pickup or ask a seller about a classified listing.
This page is about messaging neighbors. To message your board or property manager, use Messages with management instead — that's a separate, staff-facing inbox.
Starting a conversation
The easiest way to start a conversation is from something a neighbor posted:
- On a Classifieds listing, click Message seller.
- From other community content where contact is offered, choose to send a message.
A private thread opens between you and that neighbor, and your first message is sent.
Reading and replying
Go to Community → Messages to see your conversations. Each shows the other neighbor's display name and an unread badge when there are new replies. Open a conversation to read the thread — your messages appear on one side, theirs on the other — and use the box at the bottom to reply.
The other person is notified of each new message.
Privacy
- Conversations are private between you and the other resident.
- Your board and managers cannot read your neighbor conversations — unless a participant reports the conversation. Reporting a thread makes it visible to your management team so they can review it for harassment or abuse.
- Your email and phone number are not shared through messaging; neighbors only see your display name.
Never share sensitive personal or financial information in messages. If a conversation makes you uncomfortable, you can report it — that brings your management team in to review it.
