Lost & Found

Lost your keys? Found a wandering dog? Lost & Found helps reunite items (and pets) with their owners across the community.

Before you start

You'll need a Community Profile, and your board needs to have Lost & Found enabled.

Browsing​

Go to Community → Lost & Found. Each post shows a photo, a description, where it was lost or found, and a status badge:

  • Lost — someone is looking for this
  • Found — someone found this and is trying to return it
  • Reunited — it found its way home 🎉

Posting​

  1. Click Post an item
  2. Choose I lost something or I found something
  3. Add the item, details, and optionally where (e.g. "by the mailboxes")
  4. Add photos (up to 8)
  5. Click Post item

Helping out​

If you have information about a posted item, use the comment box to add a tip. The poster is notified.

Closing the loop​

When an item makes it home, the person who posted it can mark it Reunited so neighbors know the search is over. You can also Remove your own post.

Reporting​

Use Report on any post that looks inappropriate.

tip

For found items, share enough to be recognizable but hold back one identifying detail (an inscription, a distinctive mark). Ask the claimant to describe it — that helps make sure it goes to the rightful owner.
