Community Website
Give your HOA a public website without hiring a web developer. PorchQ publishes a community site at your own subdomain (e.g., sunset-hills.sites.porchq.com) and keeps it in sync with content you already manage in the portal — announcements, events, amenities, and resident-visible documents.
This guide applies to Owners and Managers (staff). Only board members can manage website settings.
Enabling Your Website
- Go to Community Website in your board portal
- In the Website Access card, turn on Enable public website
- Choose your Subdomain — PorchQ suggests one based on your community name. Reserved subdomains like
appandadminare blocked automatically. - Click Save Website Settings
The status badge at the top switches to Enabled, and your site is live at https://your-subdomain.sites.porchq.com. A preview link on the page opens the live site in a new tab.
Branding & Copy
Make the site yours in the Branding & Copy card:
- Tagline: A short line displayed prominently on the site
- Accent color: Used for section labels, badges, and call-to-action accents
- Logo: Upload your community's logo
Hero Media
The Hero Media card controls the banner at the top of your site:
- Hero image: Upload a photo of your community
- Hero video URL: Optionally use a video instead
Contact Details
The Contact Details card feeds the site's contact section:
- Contact email and Contact phone
- Office hours
- Social links: Facebook URL, Instagram URL, Nextdoor URL
Choosing What Appears
The Visible Sections card lets you toggle optional sections on or off:
| Section | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Amenities | Amenity cards and highlights |
| Events | Upcoming public calendar items |
| Documents | The public document library |
| Board Members | Owner and manager leadership cards |
The Hero, Announcements, and Contact sections are always part of the site.
Section Order
Use the up/down arrows in the Section Order card to arrange sections in the order visitors should see them.
How Content Stays in Sync
You don't maintain website content separately — the site reflects what you already manage in PorchQ:
- Announcements you publish appear on the site
- Events on your community calendar show in the Events section
- Documents marked resident-visible appear in the public document library when the Documents section is enabled
- Amenities and board member listings come straight from your portal data
Click Save Website Settings after any change to publish it to the live site.
Before enabling the Documents section, review which documents are shared with residents — the public site draws from the same library. Anything you wouldn't put on a public bulletin board should stay internal.
Best Practices
- Add a hero image and logo first: A site with real photos builds trust with prospective buyers and vendors
- Keep contact details current: This is often the first place outsiders look for your HOA's contact info
- Start minimal: Enable just Hero, Announcements, and Contact, then add sections as your content matures
