Community Overview

The Community Overview dashboard is your at-a-glance health check: money collected, work outstanding, conversations waiting, and votes in flight — all on one page.

Go to Community Overview in your board portal to open it. (New to PorchQ? Click Take a tour for a guided walkthrough.)

Property Header

The top card shows your property's name, address, timezone, and total member count — a quick confirmation you're looking at the right community if you manage more than one.

Key Metrics

Four metric cards summarize the state of your community:

  • Collected this quarter: Payment volume received this quarter
  • Outstanding balance: What residents still owe — with a shortcut to monitor delinquent accounts and manage reminders and fee waivers from the ledger
  • Open maintenance: Requests awaiting action, with board approvals and vendor updates
  • Documents: Library size — uploads appear instantly in the resident portal

Community Overview Card

A snapshot of the fundamentals:

  • Properties: Communities you manage
  • Dues Collection Rate: Percentage of assessed dues collected
  • Upcoming Meetings: The next scheduled meetings from your calendar

Communications Card

Your Communications inbox status without leaving the dashboard:

  • Unread inbound: Resident messages waiting to be read
  • Needs assignment: Threads with no manager assigned
  • Delivery issues: Threads with bounced or failed emails
  • Overdue replies: Conversations waiting too long for a response

Quick Actions

One-click shortcuts to the most common workflows:

  • Open communications: Review resident replies and delivery status
  • Review maintenance queue: Prioritize open requests and escalations
  • Manage active votes: Publish, monitor participation, and close ballots
  • Update member directory: Invite members and manage board roles
  • Open Usage & Billing: Review your PorchQ balance, usage, and published rates

Action Items Board

Open work grouped into three lanes — Violations, Maintenance, and Votes — each showing its count and the top items so nothing slips through quietly.

Member Directory

A preview of your community's members with their roles (including board roles like president or treasurer). Use Update member directory in Quick Actions to invite residents or change roles.

Financial Overview

The bottom of the dashboard tracks money and records:

  • An assessment collection chart showing collection trends over time
  • The most recent ledger entries (assessments, payments, fees)
  • Recent documents added to the library

Best Practices

  • Start your day here: The Communications and Action Items cards surface anything that needs a human before it becomes a complaint
  • Watch the Dues Collection Rate: A falling rate is the earliest signal to review reminders and late-fee policy
  • Zero out "Needs assignment": An unassigned conversation is one nobody owns
