Create and manage community events to keep residents informed and engaged. From board meetings to social gatherings, the events system helps you communicate schedules and track attendance.

Creating an Event

  1. Go to Events in your board portal
  2. Click New Event
  3. Fill in the event details:
    • Title: A clear name for the event
    • Description: Details about what the event is for
    • Date and Time: When the event takes place
    • Location: Where it will be held (optional)
  4. Configure event settings (see below)
  5. Click Create Event

Event Types

Choose the appropriate type for your event:

  • Meeting: Board meetings, committee meetings, annual meetings
  • Community Event: Social gatherings, holiday parties, BBQs
  • Maintenance: Scheduled maintenance, inspections, contractor visits
  • Voting Deadline: Ballot close dates, election deadlines
  • Other: General announcements or miscellaneous events

Event types help residents filter and understand the nature of each event.

Visibility Settings

Control who can see each event:

Public

Visible to everyone, including non-residents viewing public community information.

Members Only

Visible only to registered community members who are logged in.

Staff Only

Visible only to board members and property managers. Use this for internal planning meetings or board-only discussions.

All-Day Events

Toggle All Day for events that don't have specific start/end times:

  • Voting deadlines
  • Community-wide announcements
  • Holiday observances

All-day events appear at the top of the calendar day.

Editing and Canceling Events

Edit an Event

  1. Click on the event
  2. Select Edit
  3. Make your changes
  4. Save the updated event

Best Practices

  • Be descriptive: Include enough detail so residents know what to expect
  • Set visibility appropriately: Use Staff Only for internal meetings, Members Only for most community events
  • Use event types consistently: Helps residents filter and find relevant events
  • Update when plans change: Keep event details current to avoid confusion
  • Plan ahead: Create events early so residents can plan their schedules
  • Encourage calendar sync: Remind residents they can subscribe to community events in their preferred calendar app
