Units Management
Track and manage individual units, homes, or lots in your community. Units help organize residents by their physical location and enable detailed property-level tracking.
Viewing Units
Go to Units in your board portal to see all units in your community. Each unit shows:
- Unit name/number
- Unit type
- Size (bedrooms, bathrooms, square footage)
- Address
- Status (active or inactive)
Creating a Unit
- Go to Units
- Click Add Unit
- Fill in the unit details:
- Name: Unit identifier (e.g., "Unit 101", "Lot 5A", "123 Main St")
- Unit Type: Category (apartment, house, condo, townhouse, lot, etc.)
- Bedrooms: Number of bedrooms
- Bathrooms: Number of bathrooms
- Square Feet: Total living space
- Address Line: Street address or location details
- Click Save
Editing a Unit
- Find the unit in the list
- Click Edit
- Update the details
- Click Save
Deactivating a Unit
If a unit is no longer part of your community (demolished, combined, etc.):
- Find the unit in the list
- Click Deactivate or Delete
- The unit is marked inactive and hidden from active views
note
Deactivating a unit preserves historical data. The unit isn't permanently deleted, allowing you to maintain records and reactivate if needed.
Linking Units to Residents
Units can be associated with memberships to track which residents live in each unit. This helps with:
- Organizing the resident directory by unit
- Generating unit-specific financial reports
- Tracking occupancy across your community
Best Practices
- Use consistent naming: Establish a naming convention (e.g., "Unit 101" vs "Apt 101")
- Keep details current: Update unit information when properties change
- Track all units: Include vacant units to maintain complete records
- Document special units: Note any units with unique characteristics in the address field
